He wants (demands) us to be -confident- in Him, by experience, strong in the settled knowledge of His love for us. I still love reading it though, “Let us also go, that we may die with him.” Of course we know that every single time we choose to see Him in our hearts and not worldly lusts, we are following Him, and thereby crucifying our flesh and desires with Him on the Cross, and obtaining works etc. endeavoring to live in His "new nature", and putting on the full armor of Christ, which is running the race!!
